Welcome to Marcasite Poodles

And welcome to our little corner of Devon!

We are a small, trusted hobby breeder of silver and blue standard poodles, all extensively health tested.

Our breeding programme is dedicated to producing healthy, well‑tempered, and conformationally sound companions.

Every dog in our programme undergoes comprehensive health screening for genetic conditions relevant to the breed, ensuring our puppies have the best possible start in life.

Puppies are raised in a loving home environment, socialised from day one, and fed a natural, raw diet to support optimal growth and vitality. We also use e

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Stimulation (ESS) to help our puppies become confident, well-adjusted family members.

Our dogs enjoy regular walks across the stunning Dartmoor countryside, and we carefully match each puppy with families who will treasure them for life. We also offer lifelong support to guide you every step of the way.

Our Breeding Philosophy

Our focus is on breeding standard poodles with outstanding temperament, sound conformation, and excellent health.

Puppies are raised in a loving home environment, socialised from day one, and fed a natural, raw diet to support optimal growth and vitality. We use early neurological stimulation and Early Scent Stimulation (ESS) to ensure our puppies are confident, well‑adjusted, and ready to thrive in their new families.

Lifelong Support

When you welcome a Marcasite Poodle into your home, you gain a companion for life. We are committed to offering ongoing support and guidance to all of our puppy families.

Whether you need advice on grooming, training, or behaviour, I am always here to help. In addition, we have a friendly and supportive owners’ group where families can stay connected, share updates, and enjoy being part of the extended Marcasite community.

We organise semi-regular meet-ups, some of us have even enjoyed walking holidays together, and our annual Secret Santa has become a firm favourite. While participation in these activities is always warmly welcomed, it is entirely optional.

Meet our Dogs

I keep my numbers intentionally small. This is not a production line. It is a home.

Every dog here is first and foremost a beloved member of my family. By choosing not to overbreed, I can give each girl the time, attention and care she deserves, physically and emotionally. Their health is monitored closely, their wellbeing comes before any plans, and they are never asked to give more than is fair or kind.

Breeding responsibly means allowing proper recovery time between litters, retiring girls early enough for them to enjoy life simply as cherished companions, and ensuring each puppy is raised with hands-on care from day one. It means knowing every dog’s personality inside out, noticing the smallest change, celebrating their quirks, and being fully present.

Keeping my numbers small allows me to pour the very best of myself into every dog and every litter. There is no rushing. No cutting corners. Just thoughtful planning, careful raising, and a lifetime commitment to the dogs I bring into this world.

Because ethical breeding is not about quantity.

It is about devotion.

Testimonials

"We are proud owners of Bea (aka Princess Pickle!) Bea is beautiful blue girl from Edna's 2020 litter.

We'd owned adult rescue dogs before, but never a puppy and never a poodle.

Amy's advice and support from first contact and over the years we have had Bea has been invaluable. She supported us in achieving Bea's novice trick dog title and has always welcomed us on the group walks and events that she holds.

Bea is a clever, stubborn, affectionate, cheeky girl and we absolutely adore her"

Jane, Lancashire.

"I have two Marcasite Poodles - Nancy from Peggy’s 2022 litter and Maggie from Edna’s 2023 litter.

Both dogs are brilliant family pets who love accompanying me exploring the Somerset countryside.
Both dogs were well socialised when they left Amy; she introduced them to sounds such as fireworks while they were with her and provided the puppies with daily enrichment activities.

Amy really cares about the Poodles that she breeds and arranges annual meet ups so that poodles and owners can meet up.

Amy also has a Facebook group where we can follow the adventures of previous litters, whether it is beautifully turned out in the show ring or up to their elbows in mud and running on the moors.

Amy is always happy to listen and advise me whatever the question."

Jacqui, Somerset.

"Amy is a fantastic and knowledgeable lady who cares deeply about her poodles - their health, temperament and overall well being always comes first.

From my very first contact with Amy and her Marcasite poodles, it was clear that she works incredibly hard to make sure her puppies are going to loving and well prepared homes. Even after bringing our boy home, now 5 years ago, Amy has continued to offer guidance and support whenever needed.

I’m so grateful to Amy for providing me with my beautiful boy and soulmate. I would whole heartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a responsibly and ethically bred standard poodle."

Jane, Norfolk.
